Overstrand Municipality is excited about the various temporary work opportunities that were recently advertised, all of which have now closed.
DFFE Cleaning Programme
The Social Economic Services (SES, formerly the LED Department) has completed contacting shortlisted candidates for the temporary Department of Forestry, Fisheries, and the Environment (DFFE) cleaning project. The inductions were concluded this week, and the candidates are now ready to begin work.
YearBeyond Libraries Programme
The Overstrand Libraries are currently contacting shortlisted candidates for the YearBeyond Libraries Programme in their respective areas to invite them for interviews.
The first round of interviews has already begun at Mount Pleasant Library, with interviews in Hawston taking place today. Upcoming sessions are scheduled for next week at Gansbaai, Stanford, Hermanus, Buffelsjags, Eluxolweni, and Kleinmond Libraries.
In the first week of March, the Yeboneers will begin orientation under the YearBeyond Libraries Programme. As Libraries Champions, they will inspire a love for reading by leading engaging reading sessions and activities with children.
Ward Specific Cleaning Jobs
The closing date for Ward Specific Cleaning Job applications was 12 February 2026, and the recruitment and selection process is still ongoing.
Once the process is finalised, the Human Resources (HR) Department will contact shortlisted candidates from the official municipal landline number starting with 028 313 8xxxx during office hours.
They will provide details about the specific position and ward you applied for, as well as information on the documents you need to bring and where to sign the contract.
The HR Department will not contact you from a cellphone number or via WhatsApp.
