The public is invited to comment on the Draft Estuarine Management Plan for the Onrus River Estuary.

The Western Cape Department of Environmental Affairs and Development Planning (DEA&DP) has appointed Coastal and Environmental Services (CES) to update the management plan to reflect changes in the estuary’s physical and ecological condition.

The update takes into account the impact of the 2019 peatland fires and the floods of September 2023. The plan aims to provide an updated framework for the rehabilitation, sustainable use and long-term management of the estuary.

HOW TO COMMENT

Written comments or objections must be submitted to the Department by 30 November 2026.
