Residents using the Overstrand Citizen App can now view the expected turnaround timeframe for service requests, with service standards displayed within the app in accordance with the Municipality’s Service Charter.
Once a service request type has been selected, the app displays the expected response timeframe for that specific request in the ‘Requirements’ field, giving residents a clearer understanding of what to expect after submitting a request.
For example, the app now displays service standards such as:
• Opening of Stormwater Blockages – 5 workdays
• Pothole Repairs – 15 workdays
The new feature was introduced following feedback from regular app users who wanted to know how long it will take to complete a specific request.
By displaying these timeframes during the service request process, the Municipality aims to improve transparency, manage expectations and reduce the need for follow-up enquiries regarding the status of requests.
The Municipality’s Service Charter is available on the municipal website at www.overstrand.gov.za under About Us > Administration > Organisation Overview.
The Overstrand Citizen App remains the quickest way for residents to report service delivery issues, track progress and receive feedback without having to make telephone enquiries.
If you have not yet tried the Citizen App, now is the perfect time to give it a go.
