Host an Event in Overstrand
Planning a public event in Overstrand? Apply online to host events such as festivals, markets, sports events, parades and fundraisers.
All public events require approval in terms of the Overstrand Municipality’s Events By-law to ensure proper planning, safety and coordination with municipal and emergency services.
Applications must be submitted in advance, depending on the size of the event. The online system makes the process simple, accessible and easy to follow.

Your event cannot proceed without formal approval and an issued permit.

- Site layout and zoning approval
- Traffic and crowd management plans
- Emergency and safety planning
- Environmental and waste management
- Permits and approvals (e.g. noise exemption, liquor licence where applicable)
- Insurance and venue Approval
ALCOHOL SALES
If alcohol will be sold or consumed at your event, you must apply to the Western Cape Liquor Board via the South African Police Service (SAPS)
