Planning a public event in Overstrand? Apply online to host events such as festivals, markets, sports events, parades and fundraisers.
All public events require approval in terms of the Overstrand Municipality’s Events By-law and Policy to ensure proper planning, safety and coordination with municipal and emergency services. Applications must be submitted in advance, depending on the size of the event.
An application fee of R9 438 per event applies to events to be held at public open spaces, gardens, nature reserves, parks, caravan parks, camping sites and resorts. This fee also applies to events to be held on private properties where municipal services or resources are required. An application fee of R590 per event applies to non-profit organisations, birthday parties, weddings, crèches, school events, religious events and awareness events.
Applications must be submitted well in advance of your event.

Your event cannot proceed without formal approval and an issued permit.
If alcohol will be sold or consumed at your event, you must apply to the Western Cape Liquor Board via the South African Police Service (SAPS)
