Gone are the days when we had to pick up the phone to check our bank balance or send an email to place an order.

Now, with just a few taps on our smartphones, we can track our finances or check the status of deliveries.

The Overstrand Citizen App works in the same way. Users can not only request services but also report issues that need attention – all from the same app.

𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲
The main aim is to enhance municipal service delivery by enabling residents to log service requests and track progress online, without needing to visit or call municipal offices.

𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐆𝐨 𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥?

  • 𝐄𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐔𝐬𝐞 (𝐀𝐧𝐲 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞, 𝐀𝐧𝐲 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞): The app allows you to quickly and easily submit service requests directly from your smartphone by snapping a photo, adding a description, and pinpointing the exact location using GPS.
  • 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐑𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠: Once submitted, the app sends your request straight to Overstrand Municipality’s 24/7 Contact Centre, where it will be directed to the relevant department – without delays or confusion.
  • 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲: You can monitor your request in real-time, receiving regular status updates such as “assigned,” “in progress,” and “completed.”
The app is commonly used to request tanker services, but it can also report issues such as faulty streetlights or blocked stormwater pipes.

Please note that the Citizen App should not be used for life-threatening emergencies involving Fire & Rescue or Safety & Security. In such cases, call our Emergency Control Room at 028 312 2400.
 
This app empowers communities by providing a simple, transparent way to track service requests and ensure prompt responses from local authorities.
