Almost 200 firefighters and support personnel are working tirelessly to combat the fires in the Gansbaai and Stanford areas.
We thank the community for their overwhelming support and for enquiring about how they can assist the firefighters and support crews. Our sincere appreciation also goes to the individuals and organisations who have already donated and dropped off much-needed items.
DONATIONS DROP-OFF:
If you would like to donate refreshments for our firefighters, you are welcome to drop them off at any of the Overstrand Fire Stations, with the primary drop-off point being 3 Mussel Road, Hermanus.
Financial contributions can be made to the Whale Coast Business Community Forum’s Standard Bank account number 303211415 using the reference “overstrand fires”.
Items needed include:
• Bottled water and cooldrinks
• Nutritional drinks such as Energade and Powerade
• Energy bars
• Saline-based eye drops (to assist those affected by smoke and ash)
• Packets of chips
• Sweets for sore throats
