Overstrand Libraries offer a free public library service at all 9 libraries across the municipal area. They have all the bestseller fictions books and endless non-fiction topics to cover your interests or needs.
Items on loan must be returned to the same library from which they were borrowed.
Membership is free for permanent residents/ratepayers/tenants of the Overstrand. Children may be enrolled as members (at least one parent should be a member). Membership is valid for a three year period.
Residents who are not library members yet, can join by filling out a membership form and handing the completed form in at their local library, together with a copy of their ID and latest municipal account and a reference from two family members not residing at the same address. If renting, a letter from the owner or your letting agent is required.
Non-Residents
Residents who reside outside the Overstrand Municipal area (Botrivier, Caledon etc), may join as subscription members. An annual subscription fee is payable. Membership is valid for one year only.

BORROW E-BOOKS and AUDIO BOOKS
We encourage library members to download the LIBBY app onto their smart phone, tablet, laptop or computer and sign up to borrow eBooks and audiobooks at no charge.
To download the LIBBY ap, go to your phone’s app store, search for Overdrive’s Libby App (overdrive.com/apps/libby/) and follow the instructions to borrow the title you want.
To log into LIBBY you will be using your library credentials. Simply use the full number on your library card as your username and your date of birth – dd.mm.yyyy (include full stops) – as your password. (Use the full number; some libraries have 13 digits and others 14 or 15).
Non-members who want to access the e-resources, must first join their local library and will be able to make use of the mobile service after five working days.
