MDB Ward boundary changes proposed for Overstrand

MDB Ward boundary changes proposed for Overstrand

Changes to ward boundaries have been proposed for all metropolitan and local municipalities by the Municipal Demarcation Board (MDB) as part of preparations for the 2026 municipal elections.

At a public meeting held in early June for the Overstrand region, the MDB explained how the draft boundaries were drawn, using data from the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC), including the number of registered voters and locations of voting stations.

Overstrand currently has14 wards, but the demarcation board has recommended increasing this to 15.

Residents and community groups are urged to review the proposed changes and submit their feedback by 30 June 2025. Comments can be sent to registry@demarcation.org.za.
