Alderlady Elnora Gillion has been elected as the Deputy Executive Mayor of Overstrand Municipality during a special council meeting held on Friday, 23 May 2025.

Her election follows the resignation of Alderman Lindile Ntsabo from the role, after being elected as Speaker of the Overberg District Municipality (ODM).

In addition to her new role as Deputy Mayor, Ald Gillion has also been appointed as the Member of the Mayoral Committee (MMC) responsible for Planning and Development.

Mayor Klaas has retained several members from the previous Mayoral Committee. Councillor Ronald Nutt has been re-appointed as Portfolio Chairperson for Community Services, and Alderman Arnie Africa will continue serving as Portfolio Chairperson for Corporate Services. Councillor Stephen Williams has also been reappointed as Portfolio Chairperson for Finance.

In addition, Councillor Andrew Komani has been appointed as the Mayoral Committee Member for Municipal Public Safety, while Councillor Clinton Lerm serve as the Mayoral Committee Member for Infrastructure Services.
