In terms of section 18(1) of the Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2000 (Act 2 of 2000) (PAIA) a request must be made in the prescribed form to the information officer of the public body concerned at his or her address or fax number or electronic mail address. Please find attached the relevant form for completion.

In terms of section 22(1) of PAIA the information officer of a public body to whom a request for access is made, must by notice require the requester, other than a personal requester, to pay the prescribed request fee (if any), before further processing the request.

Item 1 Annexure B to the Regulations regarding the Promotion of Access to Information determines that the request fee payable by every requester, other than a personal requester is R100,00.

In light of the above, you are kindly requested to complete the attached form and pay the amount of R100,00 being the prescribed fee, into reference number 20210629095107 at the municipality or do a bank transfer and send the receipt, together with the completed form to enquiries@overstrand.gov.za.

Kindly note that one of the objectives of the Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2000 (Act 2 of 2000) is to protect the privacy of third parties. In terms of Section 34(1) read with Section 47 an information officer of a public body must refuse a request for access to information of a third party unless the said party gave written consent for the disclosure of the record to the requester concerned.
