The Overstrand Municipality extends its heartfelt congratulations to Hawston Cricket Club and Hermanus Cricket Club on their promotion to the Boland Cricket Premier League for the 2026/27 season.

This well-deserved achievement reflects the dedication, talent and perseverance of the players, coaches, management committees and volunteers who continue to strengthen the game of cricket across the Overstrand.

Hawston Cricket Club’s achievement is made even more remarkable by its commitment to growing the game. The club fields first, second and third teams, as well as a women’s team made up predominantly of high school learners. This investment in youth and women’s cricket creates opportunities for young people to develop their skills, enjoy the game and build a strong future for the sport.

The Chairman of Hawston Cricket Club, Edmund Abels, said the achievement is a significant milestone for the club.

“This promotion is the result of years of hard work, discipline and dedication from our players, coaching staff and executive committee. It also reflects the vibrant sporting talent and spirit that defines the Hawston community. We are incredibly proud to represent the Overstrand at this elite level of competition.”
