Mayor Annelie Rabie and her team will continue the First Thursday’s initiative in Hermanus on 6 April 2023.
Join them in the Hermanus Municipal Banqueting Hall from 17:00 - 19:00.
It is a golden opportunity for residents to engage with both the political and administrative leadership of the municipality and residents are encouraged to attend the event.
It is open to everyone and no appointments are required.

A controlled burn on 80 hectares of Blessberg in Betty’s Bay, is planned for the first week of April, weather depending.
This burn will be both a fuel load reduction and ecological burn and will be first of the controlled burns for the 2023 burn season.
Overstrand Municipality along with Cape Nature, Overberg District Municipality and Greater Overberg Fire Protection Association (goFPA) will conduct the burn. They will also do search and rescue operations in the days leading up to the burn to remove tortoises, chameleons and other animals out of harm’s way.
The Municipality asks members of the pubic to please avoid this area during the burn.
The R43 road between Hermanus and Stanford will not be closed for the Whale Coast Half Marathon on Saturday, 25 March 2023 from 07:00 - 10:00, but motorists are reminded to be vigilant in looking out for runners.
The half marathon will start at Grotto beach at 07:00 from where the runners will run towards Voëlklip beach past Birkenhead House and then turn right into 10th Street and continue to De Mond Caravan Park.
After crossing 7th Street, the runners will head straight along the R43 on the shoulder of the road towards Stanford Hills.
Overstrand Municipal Traffic Services, Provincial Traffic and marshals will be on duty.
Please overtake with care and apply the road rules while giving the 240 runners the space they need to run safely.
Overstrand Municipality is currently arranging venues for roadshows on Saturdays to update the indigent database and to help families to register or to re- apply for indigent support.
The indigent support assists needy households that have limited financial ability to pay for municipal services.
