Let love be the light that guides the way
At the heart of our festivities around this time of the year lies a core message: goodwill.
And it is in the spirit of that message that my fervent wish for this Festive Season is that all of us will uncover the true meaning of love anew.
If we can bestow goodwill - a gift that is so dear yet costs so little – we will truly be able to embody the spirit of unconditional love that is such a crucial part of building the caring communities, we all long for.
Bestowing goodwill simply implies that we will respect one another, be just in our dealings with one another and be that trustworthy, responsible person the next person can rely on.
By bestowing goodwill, we can rid the world of fear and injustice and create communities where criminals and the self-serving are shunned.
If love guides our way, it also goes without saying that we will respect the essence of what lies at the heart of our very existence – nature.
One cannot bestow goodwill on humankind and be cruel to nature simultaneously. Doing so would be self-defeating.
Thus, my prayer is that we will yet again allow love to guide us into a New Year where so many challenges await, yet so many opportunities can be unlocked if we are prepared to bestow the gift of goodwill.
In that spirit, I wish all our residents and visitors a Blessed Festive Season and a Prosperous New Year.
