Area Management - Hermanus

The Area Manager: Hermanus is responsible for the following:

The proper functioning of four Ward Committees and oversight over an additional four Ward Committees in the Greater Hermanus Area;
Operational Management that includes maintenance of the water treatment works and water distribution, waste water treatment works and network, solid waste, roads, parks and gardens and sports fields;
Four libraries, namely Hermanus, Mount Pleasant, Zwelihle and Hawston;
Thusong Community Centre;
Auditorium and Banquet Hall;
Maintenance of Head Office Building and gardens;
Maintenance of all community buildings in the Hermanus Area;
Co-ordination of triangular meetings for all festivals and events of significance;
Oversight of Grotto and Hawston Blue Flag Beaches;
Onrus Caravan Park and Hawston Camp site;
Oversight of two Olympic size swimming pools;
Oversight of four cemeteries, and
Involvement with the design and implementation of ward projects for 8 wards.
Allocation of informal trading sites at all facilities and beaches during peak season
Various other delegated responsibilities

Management of cleaning contractors and ensuring a high level of cleanliness in the Greater Hermanus Area.
Maintenance of Head Office Building and gardens;
Maintenance of all community buildings in the Hermanus Area;
Co-ordination of triangular meetings for all festivals and events of significance;
Overview of Grotto and Hawston Blue Flag Beaches;
Management of Hawston Camp site;
Management of all Municipal swimming pools in the Greater Hermanus ;
